During 1997-1998 The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender,
and Reproduction, Inc., celebrated 50 years of research and development
of its special collections. The Institute was incorporated in 1947
as the Institute for Sex Research (ISR) by Dr. Alfred Kinsey. In 1948,
the first of Kinsey's landmark studies, Sexual Behavior in the
Human Male (W.B. Saunders) was published. |

- In May 1998, I.U. Press issued reprints of Sexual
Behavior in the Human Male, Sexual
Behavior in the Human Female, with a new introduction by
John Bancroft, M.D., and The
Kinsey Data: Marginal Tabulations of the 1938-1963 Interviews.
- Photographic Tour of Alfred Kinsey's
Sex Research Project, 1938-1963
- Friends of The Kinsey Institute
- The Friends Group was newly established this golden anniversary
year.
- Guest Book
- The Institute particularly welcomed remembrances during its anniversary
years.
- History of the Institute
- Information is provided on the first 50 years of the Institute:
its origins, its directors, and a chronology of events. The Institute
welcomes donations of materials related to its history and to Alfred
