of Alfred C. Kinsey

In October 1997, a new and controversial biography of Alfred Kinsey,
was published: James H. Jones' Alfred C. Kinsey: A Public/Private
Life (W.W. Norton, 1997). This page has been developed in response
to inquiries received by The Kinsey Institute for comments on the Jones'
biography. John Bancroft, M.D., Director, is preparing a review of reviews
for publication in 1998. The list below includes selected reviews that
the Institute believes provide useful critiques of Jones' book.

A Biography, Indiana University Press, 1971) and Wardell Pomeroy
(Dr. Kinsey and the Institute for Sex Research, Harper &
Row, 1972. The most recent biography is Jonathan Gathorne-Hardy's Alfred
C. Kinsey: Sex the Measure of All Things. London: Chatto & Windus, 1998.
