Gina Ogden Curatorial Scholarship for Integrative Approaches to Sex Research and Therapy
This annual scholarship is available to anyone wishing to use the library and archival materials at the Kinsey Institute to research new, thoughtful, and inclusive approaches to sex research and therapy that build on the work of Dr. Gina Ogden. It provides $3,000 to support a 4-8 week visit to the Kinsey Institute in Indiana, Bloomington.
Scholars of Sexology Fellowship
This annual fellowship is available to candidates enrolled in a U.S. graduate program from any academic discipline or university whose research interests would benefit from the use of library and archival materials at the Kinsey Institute. It provides $5,000 to support a 2-4 week visit to the Kinsey Institute in Indiana, Bloomington, and related research expenses. Past fellows have studied representations of sexuality in literature, the history of medicine, how sex is portrayed in media and marketing, perspectives of sex workers, sexuality in different cultures, and more.
CAHI / Kinsey Institute Fellowship
This fellowship for Indiana University faculty supports a cutting-edge project in the arts or humanities that makes extensive use of the Kinsey Institute’s library and archival materials. The fellowship provides a two-course release and access to resources at the Kinsey Institute. Fellows will also be given the title of Affiliated Faculty or Research Fellow at the Kinsey Institute.
Kraft-Kinsey Award for MFA Students
Open to candidates pursuing an MFA at Indiana University only, this award provides $1,000 to support a writing project that makes substantial use of the Kinsey Institute’s library and archives. The award is a unique opportunity for emerging writers to explore themes and connections relating to human sexuality. Recipients must present a public reading or performance of their final work.
Research excellence awards at the Kinsey Institute recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to sex research. Candidates for these awards are nominated and selected by Kinsey Institute core and affiliated faculty. Award recipients are invited to give a public lecture on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.
Alfred C. Kinsey Distinguished Researcher AwardEndowed by donors in 2018, the Alfred C. Kinsey Distinguished Researcher Award honors renowned scientists and academics who shape our understanding of human sexuality through their sex research.
Kenneth R. Haslam, MD, Relationship Diversity Research AwardEndowed in 2021 by Dr. Kenneth Haslam, an academic anesthesiologist and long-time friend and supporter of the Kinsey Institute, this award supports the work of Kinsey Institute and affiliated researchers conducting research on non-monogamy, alternative sexualities, and intersections of diverse relationships and sexuality.
