Open to currently enrolled PhD candidates at Indiana University Bloomington, the PhD Minor offers an interdisciplinary study of human sexuality across biological, behavioral, and social sciences, as well as humanities and the arts.
Previous participants have come from a variety of schools and departments, including: Anthropology, Counseling and Educational Psychology, Education, Gender Studies, History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine, Informatics, Nursing, Psychological and Brain Sciences, Public Health, and Sociology.
Selecting an advisor
Candidates will choose an advisor from the program co-chairs or Kinsey Institute core/affiliate faculty. This advisor will serve as the PhD Minor representative on your committee, if required, and approve selected courses.
Course requirements
The curriculum is highly flexible, allowing alignment with individual research interests. Requirements include:
- 12 graduate-level credits, including K690: Sexual Science Research Methods (core course, 3 credits)
